When you’ve got three kids, a love for sports, and a need for a space that does it all, a well-designed loft can be a total game-changer. That’s exactly what we set out to create for our Woodrose project clients. This wasn’t just another living area—this was going to be a cozy lounge, a playroom, a media space, and the ultimate hangout for sports nights with friends. And, of course, we had to make sure it was packed with smart storage to keep the chaos under control.
A Loft That Works for the Whole Family
For K and M (our incredible clients) and their kids M, E, and R, this space had to check a lot of boxes. It needed to be comfortable, stylish, and ultra-functional, with room for the kids to do homework, a spot for movie nights, and a setup that made hosting friends effortless. Oh, and did we mention storage? Because with three kids, storage is non-negotiable.
The Tech Center: Designed for Three Growing Kids
One of the biggest asks for this space was a designated tech center where the kids could do schoolwork, play games, and have a dedicated spot for their screens. We built out a custom workstation on the back wall using IKEA storage—but we didn’t stop there. To give it a high-end, built-in look, we added a custom wood top and floating shelves, making it feel seamless, modern, and way more expensive than it actually was (our favorite kind of design magic). Now, Myles, Ezra, and Remi each have their own personalized setup that keeps tech organized and accessible.

Storage That Looks as Good as It Works
We made sure that every inch of this loft was beautifully organized—because no one wants a playroom-turned-lounge that’s constantly cluttered. With sleek hidden storage, this space stays looking fresh, no matter how much life happens here. The combination of closed cabinets for hiding messes and open shelving for styling gave the room a polished but lived-in vibe.
And a huge shoutout to The Go To Girls LA, our favorite home organization experts, who worked their magic here as well! They made sure everything had a place, creating a system that keeps this multi-use space looking effortlessly tidy and functional.
Bold Design Choices That Elevate the Space
One of the standout features of this loft is the black vertical wall panels. They instantly took the space from “nice” to next level, adding depth, texture, and a dramatic modern touch that made the whole room feel more elevated. Pair that with the custom wood elements, and we had the perfect mix of warmth and edge.
And let’s talk about that marble coffee table—this thing was no joke. It took four grown men to haul it up the stairs, but once it was in place? Totally worth it. It anchors the room with the perfect mix of luxury and durability (because let’s be real—this table is going to see plenty of family movie nights, game days, and maybe a few rogue toy car races).
The Personal Touches That Made It Theirs
From the very first conversation we had before K even hired us, she told us, "I need a sign somewhere that says, ‘But what if it all works out?’"—a reminder to embrace optimism and possibility. So, of course, we made sure that sign had a home in this space.
Another personal must-have? Family photo gallery walls. K loves displaying meaningful memories throughout their home, so we incorporated gallery walls here and in other areas. Because, let’s be honest, a house doesn’t truly feel like home until it tells your story.

The Big Reveal: Love at First Sight
The best part of every project? The reveal. The moment K and M saw their new loft, they were immediately obsessed. It’s now their go-to spot for everything—family movie nights, relaxing after a long day, and watching sports with friends.
This space isn’t just a multi-functional loft—it’s a reflection of their family, their style, and the way they truly live.
